Manushi Chhillar became the Miss World in the year 2017, but 2020 is the year that she has finally arrived in the Bollywood land. Her first film is going to be a historical drama ‘Prithviraj’ which has Akshay Kumar playing the lead role.
Prithviraj is being directed by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi who also made films like Mohalla Assi, Pinjar and Zed Plus. I am actually a little bit surprised that for such a big-budget film the producer did not hire a director of todays time!
Anyways, the film is based on the life story of the 12th century Indian King, Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay will play the role of Prithviraj and Manushi will play the role of Sanyogita, his wife.
“It is a huge honour for me and I’m giving my everything and working really hard to try and get a lot of love and appreciation from audiences when my film releases. I’d want to contribute towards the portrayal of the Indian women in cinema who are forward-thinking, beautiful, strong, vocal, independent and upright human beings. Sanyogita is a dream role for me and I’m doing my best to do justice to the responsibility that has been entrusted on me.”
Manushi said that she has always been fascinated with how female actors have been portrayed in YRF films and feels fortunate to be one of them today.
“I have grown up on YRF films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Band Baaja Baarat’, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, etc and have always been fascinated about how the heroines have been presented and projected in these movies. Such actresses captured the imagination of the audiences and entertained them through their raft,” she said.
If everything goes well then we can expect to see the film during Diwali 2020.
